This beautifully decorated house has recently been lovingly renovated to a high standard. The entrance hall leads to the light and airy sitting room with comfy sofas, WiFi, TV, DVD recorder, fireplace and window seat along with a good selections of books and games and a dining room with gas fired ‘wood burner’ stove. The spacious kitchen with cooker, fridge, oven, microwave and washing machine has a door to the garden. Ground-floor W.C. The first floor comprises a family bathroom with bath (shower over) and a separate WC, a spacious master bedroom retaining the blend of modern décor with Edwardian character and large windows filling the room with light, a single bedroom with Victorian fireplace and a further single bedroom with a single bed with pull-out single underneath. On the second floor is an attic room with a double bed, small TV and sofa. (NB there are sloping ceilings so some restricted head room in this area).
To the rear of the house is a paved courtyard garden – perfect for BBQs in the sunshine!
Parking is available on the street outside the property on a first come first served basis. Sometimes parking is permitted in the local pub car park (a few minutes’ walk away) – please ask for details. It is also easy to get around without a car from this location as there is a train station and bus routes within easy walking distance as well as the Exe Estuary cycle path.
Barn Ridge is approximately 8 minutes’ walk from the pretty harbour at Lympstone and the cycle paths to Exmouth and Topsham. The village has four friendly pub-restaurants, a post office, café and well equipped village shop. The Exe Estuary cycle path runs through the village and there are 18 footpaths offering beautiful coastal and country walks. The village train station has a frequent and regular service to Exmouth and Exeter, and there is also a bus service close by. Exmouth with its 2 miles of sandy beach and Jurassic Coast path is a few minutes away by car and a pleasant 30-minute stroll along the coast path.
Please Note – It is possible to use the fireplace in the sitting room but should you wish to do so please inform us of your intention to use this in advance of your stay. There is a £15 charge per week for its use, this does not include fuel (coal, logs etc).
