Exmouth is at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, an area of international distrinction and England's first World Heritage Site. The coast path starts at Orcombe Point which contains the oldest rocks along the south coast. Clues buried in the rock formations indicate that sand dunes may at one time have blown across an ancient desert. The path follows the stunning coastline for 95 miles into Dorset. The rocky terrain charts 185 million years of the Earth's history.
