The iconic pebble beach at Budleigh is a gentle 5 minute stroll, as is the town centre which houses many independent clothes, gift and food shops and a good election of cafes and bakeries. Budleigh Salterton’s beach ends at the estuary of the River Otter – a haven for wildlife and birds, with the UK’s first reintroduced beaver population. A short walk up the River Otter leads to Otter Mill – a working mill, which houses a food shop, a café/restaurant serving delicious home-made, locally sourced snacks and meals, and lays on music/entertainment events (subject to Covid restrictions).
Budleigh Salterton is also an ideal base for glorious walks on Woodbury Common and along the South West Coast Path (Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site). Exmouth and Exeter are both an easy car (or bus) journey away.
